Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (NVDETR) reports that construction related jobs make up 11 percent the economy. Not just construction workers are demanded in this industry but also top management in this line of business. College graduates are highly needed in the construction industry.
Another good place where to find Las Vegas jobs is in financial institutions. The thriving Las Vegas economy has attracted the country’s largest banks, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual. In sum, there are more than 25 different banks serving the city, along with more than 15 credit unions and savings and loans. According to NVDETR, 29,400 people are employed in the finance and insurance sector of the economy. Bank and other financial institutions is one of the best sources of employment in Las Vegas as it is mutually connected with the gaming industry.
Most Las Vegas jobs came from the gaming and leisure industry. According to NVDETR, Clark County has 274,000 people employed in all leisure and hospitality activities, an increase of 200 from September 2006. In 2007, despite the increasing variety of accommodations, hotel room occupancy averaged 90 percent, according to the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority. This is also interconnected with the travel and tourism industry, which also takes a good share in the Las Vegas employment.
